Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) youth must navigate the typical challenges of adolescence while also managing the societal stigmas of sexuality and gender identities. Additionally, many LGBT youth are at a higher risk for negative behavioral and emotional disturbances, homelessness, bullying and other forms of victimization. This training discusses the unique language, community and gender fluidity of our LGBT youth.

Trainings will discuss:

  1. Identify the unique developmental challenges of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer youth.

  2. Describe barriers to communication with LGBTQ youth

  3. Describe ways to talk to LGBTQ youth about their sexual and gender identity

  4. Expand knowledge of Gender and Sexuality

  5. Hone skills to engage with youth, families and caregivers

  6. Identify way to become youth’s Best Ally
